Mid-term_Evaluation_Schedule_for_2021

The mid-term evaluation is conducted during the fourth semester of the education period. 

1. The mid-term evaluation shall apply to the doctoral student’s performance of the Individual Research Plan, with particular focus on the timeliness and quality of the tasks performed based on the doctoral thesis preparation schedule.
2. The mid-term evaluation is conducted by the mid-term evaluation commission, hereinafter referred to as the “commission” composed of three persons, including at least one person with the degree of assistant professor or professor degree in the discipline in which the doctoral thesis is being prepared and employed outside the University.
3. The commission shall be appointed by the Collegium of Scientific Discipline. The supervisor and auxiliary supervisor must not be members of the commission.
4. The Director of the Doctoral School shall appoint a date of the mid-term evaluation, which may not be later than 60 days prior to its being conducted.
5. The doctoral student, not later than 30 days prior to the appointed date of the mid-term evaluation, shall submit to the Director of the Doctoral School a mid-term report on the implementation of the Individual Research Plan, prepared according to Appendix No. 5 to the Rules and Regulations. The Director of the Doctoral School shall transfer the reports to the members of the mid-term evaluation commission in order that they make themselves familiar with the document.
6. Mid-term evaluation shall be conducted before the commission, in the form of the doctoral student’s presentation on the progress of works related to the preparation of the doctoral thesis and discussion in the course of which the doctoral student is asked questions.
7. The mid-term evaluation shall conclude with a positive or negative result. Template of the mid-term evaluation report shall be defined by Appendix No. 6 to the Rules and Regulations.

Mid-term Report on the Implementation of the Individual Research Plan

Mid-term Evaluation Criteria:

The main criterion of the mid-term evaluation is the implementation of the tasks scheduled in the Individual Research Plan.
An additional criterion shall be: 

- progress of the development of the doctoral thesis and – documented activity increasing the competences preparing the doctoral student for research or research and developmental type of work. Such activities shall include especially preparation of scientific publications, participation in conferences, courses and trainings as well as scientific work in research projects.
